This has become rampant nowadays. Lol. It happens to me too. I just woke up one day and found myself in uncountable groups which People who are actually on your contact list have the power to do this. This happens mostly on Whatsapp and telegram. Let's look at how to prevent such to occur again.

WhatsApp is the most used social media platforms which support so many features.
Check below on how to prevent unknown contacts from adding you to the group.
Log into your WhatsApp and click on the last three-dot at the upper right corner of the app.

Click on account
Click on privacy
Click on groups
Click on my contact and change and save. If you choose "My contact except..."it means you want to add a particular person, that person can add you to any group.
Let's move to the telegram.
Telegram is a global market also like Whatsapp with different features.
Let's see how to prevent unknown contact from adding us to unknown groups or channel.
Open your telegram app and click on the three lines at the upper left corner of the app
Click on settings
Click on privacy and security
Click on groups and change the default "everybody" to my contacts.
